Single Day Tours

Only have a day or two in Turrialba? Let our Amazing local guides show you their favorite aspects of the Turrialba Valley.

Full Day Inflatable Kayaks “Duckies”

This tour will take place on the beautiful Pejibaye River, this is a super fun section of river for people to experience in a small one or two man inflatable raft (called duckies). Duckies are perfect if you don’t want to learn to roll in a kayak but still want to be able to maneuver similar to a kayak.
A section of the Pejibaye river was recently used for the whitewater kayak slalom international competition and often paddlers can paddle through the gates on the course.  We will use the first section of river to work, to learn and practice, so you become more comfortable with turns, and experience whitewater. There are multiple spots along this run that allow for surfing your boat as well.
You’ll get to experience just the right amount of rapids, rocks and swift water while paddling below the jungle canopy. This is one of our favorite sections of rivers in all of Costa Rica because there are spots where the trees completely cover the river with vines and branches, making you feel like you are in a movie set.

Spend the whole day on and along the river, including a typical Costa Rica lunch!

Full Day Whitewater Kayaking

Have you always wanted to learn how to whitewater kayak?  Perhaps you’re in town and want a lesson to better your skills.

The Pejibaye is one of the best rivers in Costa Rica to learn to kayak. A section of this river was used for the whitewater kayak slalom international competition and often paddlers can paddle through the gates on the course. It is a gorgeous river run that we typically use to gauge the ability level of each paddler and also allow experienced paddlers to get in multiple eddy turns and practice their skill set.

When we have beginner kayakers we will use this section of river to work one on one with them to learn and practice their rolls, become more comfortable with eddy turns, and experience whitewater. There are multiple spots along this run that allow for surfing in a kayak as well.

You’ll get to experience just the right amount of rapids, rocks and swift water while paddling below the jungle canopy.

Full Day Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)

This is one of our favorite activities to do with families.  Whether it’s a weekend off and we’re enjoying the SUPs with our own families, or we’re taking your family on an adventure let us show you our favorite spots to recreate on the Pejibaye River.

Learn to navigate rapids, surf a wave, or just find a relaxing watering hole to paddle around.  Our professional guides will teach you how to safely enjoy the fastest growing paddlesport of Stand Up Paddleboarding.

Adventure Combo – Duckies & Turrialba Training Camp

One of the most requested activities, kayakitsu, starts with a morning of water activities, navigating rapids in inflatable kayaks known as duckies, swimming in the river, jumping into the water and maybe even a rowing competition.  These morning activities will help to improve your health.

In the afternoon you will have a training session on the banks of the river with our head guide and instructor Daniel Bustos, where you can meet and train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Functional training, there you will meet local people and families to train with them. Typical healthy Costa Rican food for dinner.

Anyone with a passion for sports and physical activity is welcome to choose this adventure combo. Beginners are welcome as are professional athletes. Groups, Teams, Gyms – all are welcome.  Turrialba Training Camp is designed to provide a day or week of well-rounded workout experiences but also provide an unforgettable vacation in the beautiful Turrialba Valley.
